Devils Go Close In Sussex Cup Final

The Devils lost a very close final set (15-14) to Bright Sex (Brighton and Sussex Uni), but picked up their winners trophies for winning the league for the second season running.

The Devils were without Sintija and their cause was not helped when Chantelle picked up an injury on her wrist. Sabrinee stepped forward and the Devils started well taking the first set roared on by loud support. Losing the second set and a very close final set should not distract from a very successful season and we look forward to them playing National League volleyball next year.

Both the Vipers and Jets lost semi final matches, but the Jets should should grow in confidence after playing so well against Horsham 1. The Vipers picked up their Div 1 champions trophies and the Jets received runners up medals for Mens Div 2.

Trees ended the day well picking up the Ladies player of the season which was well deserved.

Thanks goes to Andy Wareham for officiating on the day and Dan for his help ensuring the day ran so smoothly.

Worthing Kick Butt Paint Balling

Some of the Jets were joined by guests from the Sharks, Vipers and Thailand for a paint balling day to celebrate the end of another great season. The day started with a victory on the Jungle map when the 17 opposition were out played and out flanked by the 9 from Worthing. 8 battles and a few thousand paint balls later and victory was ours. A great day was had by all and we will bore you all with stories of our heroics at the AGM next Tuesday. Missing from the pictures is Josh who played in the morning before I remembered to take some pictures!

Double & Triples

A great weekend's volleyball at Southwick ended with two teams from Worthing in the Triples Div 1 final. Mark, Trees and Damo beat Jimmy, Chantell and Mickey to win Div1 and Eastbourne won Div 2. Damo and Martin got to the final of the Doubles on the Saturday and many teams from Worthing had a great weekend. Thanks go to Emma for organising the tournament and for all the players from Worthing that helped set up on Friday evening and pack away after the last match. Last thoughts go to Carl who ended up at the hospital with a broken ankle! Hope you recover soon and Emma spoils ya rotten.
