As a slightly depleted team, it was all hands on deck for the pre Christmas match. Amazingly no-one had a sherry hangover, and the thought of chocolate cake gave at least 3 players an adrenalin rush that kept them going through the 3 sets ( or was it sleigh bells in the distance.../??).
For once, Mickey did not swear at the first time out, thank goodness our mini team mascot is only four years of age, and he was able to find less bar humbug, and more Ho Ho Ho! And actually his wise(ish) words seemed to arm the team with the fighting spirit usually only supplied by a nice barman or those dodgy liqueur chocolates...
Anyway, not only did Ally find her blocking hands had not frozen in the cold weather, but Debs found she could still stunt dive like santa’s special elf, and Sarah just found some magic beans from some bloke called jack....??
It it handy been for there jammy shots, occasional debatable ref calls, and one big number 11 serving those nasty ice snow balls at us, then we would have won, I am sure!!!
Ok, another loss, but no less fight! Good will triumph over evil one day, oh and Sabrina...its behind you!!!!
